Chris Jericho and The Undertaker WrestleThe Phenom and Y2J Finally Face Off One-on-One on Smackdown
After 10 years together in the WWE, Chris Jericho and The Undertaker have finally wrestled one-on-one in Sheffield on the November 13, 2009 edition of Smackdown.
Chris Jericho and The Undertaker had never wrestled in a one-on-one match prior to November 13, 2009. They had wrestled in a few tag matches together, and in one Fatal Four Way bout, but even those encounters were few and far between. Fans were anxious to see the two wrestle, and finally they have gotten their wish. After ten years in the WWE together, Undertaker and Chris Jericho have faced each other man against man. Preview of the Triple Threat Match Between Undertaker, Jericho and Big ShowThe match could be considered a preview to the Triple Threat Match between The Undertaker, Chris Jericho and The Big Show, which will take place at Survivor Series. Jericho cut an impressive promo against Taker, stating that he was just a man, and he didn’t have magical powers like fans have been led to believe. Jericho vowed that he would beat Taker on Smackdown, and at Survivor Series he would win the World Heavyweight Championship. The match did a good job of living up to the hype, as they repeatedly noted that it would be the first time Undertaker and Jericho had ever faced each other in a two-man match in their ten-year shared history in the WWE. The men utilized many of their patented holds and moves, with a good amount of offense on both sides. Jericho even attempted to Tombstone Undertaker, but was thwarted. During the match, which lasted over ten minutes, both wrestlers kicked out of several pinning attempts. The Undertaker tried many times to chokeslam Chris Jericho and Y2J retaliated with the Codebreaker and the Walls of Jericho. However, once Taker slapped the Hell’s Gate on Chris, he tapped out almost immediately. The Brothers of Destruction Together Again?Chris Jericho and The Big Show proceeded to double-team The Undertaker, with Chris putting him in the Walls of Jericho and The Big Show hooking a chin lock on him. Kane put a halt to things when he stormed out to savee the Undertaker. Show and Y2J hit the bricks, leaving the Phenom and his brother standing together in the ring. On the next edition of Smackdown, Kane and Undertaker will face Big Show and Jericho in a tag match. The one-on-one match between Taker and Jericho, as well as the tag match between the Brothers of Destruction and Jeri-Show, is a build-up to Survivor Series that almost has the same main event as the upcoming pay-per-view. It is enough to whet the appetite for the Triple Threat Match, and it should be a good one.
