Jeff Hardy's Leaving Confirmed

Returning Undertaker to Take Hardy's Place

After months of back and forth speculation, it has indeed been confirmed that Jeff Hardy intends to take hiatus after this month's Summerslam pay-per-view.

It has been a long and twisting road for the story of Jeff Hardy's future with the WWE, but it would seem that finally the news has been confirmed that Hardy will be taking his leave of the company in the very near future. Prowrestlingscoops.com has reported that Hardy has handed in his notice as of the 21st August, and since it is believed that he is currently working an extension to his contract as opposed to a new one, the notice he has to give would be only short. The internet sites have reported that Vince has told Smackdown's creative team to scrap any future plans involving Hardy and instead create an angle for the Undertaker's comeback, who will take the place of Hardy.

Hardy Injured?

According to some reports published on the internet, Hardy has been recently working with some nagging injuries that he has wanted time of to heal. If this is true, it would not be surprising considering the high flying style of wrestling favoured by Hardy. It has even been reported that Hardy has been advised by his doctor not to work the Summerslam pay-per-view's Tables, Ladders and Chairs title match. However, with the WWE in the condition that it currently is, it has been needing to pull on all the star power it has. Seemingly even the chairman himself is starting to feel the heat with various reports suggesting that Vince McMahon has been feeling the pressure and questioning the companies inability to create new stars. As a result, Hardy has not been granted the time off that he has been after, which may be a factor to his be free from all contractual obligations with the company for the time being. Despite this, it has various wrestling news websites have said that those close to Hardy believe that Hardy sees himself undoubted back with the company at some point in the future.

Undertaker's Return

The extension that Hardy has been working on his contract is said to have started around a month or so ago, with his contract finishing sometime last month. Yet, it is believed that Hardy has agreed to work through his injuries due to the dire position Smackdown finds iteslf in regarding top stars, especially baby faces. Undertaker has been off television since just after this year's Wrestlemania, after months of working with a bad knee and other minor nagging injuries. Now with the Undertaker reportedly healed up and ready for a return to the ring, Smackdown has a face to replace the loss of Hardy. As such, many expect Hardy to pass Undertaker at the door as one enters and the other takes their leave, making his return to the screen at Summerslam, if not before. Undertaker's popularity with the fans and history with the company has always been a great selling point and the Dead Man's return angle should be a sufficient replacement for the scrapped Hardy plans. With Hardy's contract finished, it is likely that viewers of the Summerslam pay-per-view will see CM Punk once again walk away with the World Heavyweight Championship, which most likely means a 'Taker vs. Punk feud in the works.

Jeff Hardy shouldn't leave the WWE just cuz his contract ended. Teddy Long should have a contract match to come back into the WWE and become a wrestler. Chairmen of the WWE board do you to see fans crying or less attendence in the the stands? If you don't your should bring everyones hero back. The reason I say this is cuz nobody likes CM Chump.

Jeff Hardy is the man! He is the most entertaining and high-flying wrestler WWE has to offer. I can only hope that he will be back and that he just needs time to heal after the inevitable damage his body must take from those mind-blowing moves of his! I hope he comes back soon!!
