The Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon plays host to this year's No Mercy. Take a look at the Smackdown/ECW matches, predictions and rumors. Results as they happen!

No Mercy is exactly what the WWE fans have come to expect from this Pay Per View in past years. Read on to find out what this year’s instalment has in store!

Raw Bouts

Raw currently has four matches planned and could have featured a couple more. C.M Punk, Santino Morella, all three members of ‘Priceless’, Cryme Tyme, Kofi Kingston, and Charlie Haas all fail to feature on Sunday’s card. However there is no doubt Santino will make an appearance with Beth Phoenix, and ‘Priceless’ will more than likely meet with Orton as they have for the past few weeks.

Rey Mysterio Vs. Kane

Ever since Kane’s ‘brutal’ attack on Mysterio, (that went from capturing and torturing him to just roughing him up a bit in a parking lot, none of which was ever seen on screen) this feud has been destined to fail.

Every big Rey match seems to be a David Vs. Goliath affair and as such the fans already know what to expect, not to mention the fact the two had already faced off a few weeks previous on Raw.

This match was in desperate need of a gimmick. Last Man Standing, First Blood, even some sort of new ‘De-Masking’ match in which Kane adorned his old faceplate and the two strived to rip one another’s masks off would have helped get this one over. A simple stipulation that Rey has to take his mask off if he loses may draw a few fans, but it is unlikely that this will be the outcome, mostly due to how much money the WWE makes from selling replica’s.

Prediction: Rey to win by any means necessary. DQ being the most likely, or by assist from the brilliant Evan Bourne

JBL Vs Batista in a Number 1 Contenders Match

This match will be ‘exactly what it says on the tin’. Not a pretty match by any stretch of the imagination, but one that will crown a No. 1 Contender by the end of the night. There isn’t much more to say about this one.

Prediction: A close one to call and the outcome will no doubt rely on who is set to leave with the title in the later Ladder Match.

Beth Phoenix (C) Vs Candice Michelle for the Women’s Championship

Women’s matches at Pay Per Views are usually nothing more than filler, however Beth Phoenix can wrestle and Candice had been showing signs of improvement before her injury so perhaps this match will be worth watching after all. Hopefully Santino will join The King and Michael Cole at the announce table, increasing the draw of the match tenfold.

Prediction: Beth Phoenix should retain in this one, unless Santino accidentally costs her the match like he has on Raw in the past.

And finally....Chris Jericho (C) Vs. Shawn Michaels in a Ladder match for the World Heavyweight Championship

Another instalment of Jericho Vs. HBK pits them against each other in a Ladder Match. Both competitors have great form in Ladder Matches and although Michaels isn’t getting any younger, he has displayed in recent weeks that he isn’t afraid to take the big risks and inevitably, the big bumps that come with it.

This feud has been building for a while now and this could be the final match between these two men for some time. Despite HBK being the slight favourite going into a Ladder Match, Jericho has been a transitional champion in the past and it would really undermine his position in the WWE if they were to do the same again.

Prediction: This will be a brilliant match to wrap up the show and the feud, but anything other than a Jericho victory will be an upset. Lance Cade is sure to get involved and could well cost Michaels the match, setting up a feud of their own for the coming months.

Results

  • Beth Phoenix retained the WWE Womens Championship after Santino both helped and hindered the Glamazon en route to a pinfall over Candice Michelle
  • Rey Mysterio wins the match by DQ after Kane drilled him with a steel chair, practically knocking his mask off
  • After a MVP/Orton/'Priceless' confrontation, Orton left and a dissed MVP (kind of) joined forces with Kofi Kingston and C.M Punk to beat down 'Priceless'.
  • Batista pins JBL after a Batista bomb to become the Number 1 contender. Shortly after the match Cryme Tyme, a selection of diva's and Sgt. Slaughter stole JBL's Limo
  • Chris Jericho just about retains the World Heavyweight Championship with a little help from buddy Lance Cade in a fantastic Ladder Match against Shawn Michaels
