The Best Wrestling Heels In WWEThe Bad Guys Make Pro Wrestling Pop With Excitement
Bad guys, or heels as they are called in wrestling lingo, are the straw that stirs the pro wrestling pot. These are the best heels in the WWE today.
The "Nature Boy" Ric Flair ended his Hall of Fame WWE career on the side of the good guys, but what really set his star high in the wrestling sky was years and years of being the bad guy. Known as "the dirtiest player in the game" for years, Flair was the perfect heel. His evil persona created many good guys, and made a lot of careers for men that might never have made it otherwise. Of today's WWE superstars, who is in line to take the mantle Flair has left behind? Here are five wrestlers that have the makeup to be a Hall of Fame heel like Flair. 1. Chris Jericho - Jericho has flip flopped back and forth from good to bad for his entire career, but he is clearly a heel supreme. His feuds with The Rock were simply legendary due to an incredible talent for annoying people. Lately, Jericho has taken on a more sinister personality during his feud with Shawn Michaels and he is doing a wonderful job of making the fans hate him again. Jericho is a contender for Flair's vacant spot, but he lacks something in the ring. His microphone skills are among the best in pro wrestling right now, but his ring skills lack one important factor. Jericho does not make his opponent look good. He always seems to be waiting for his chance to take over the match again. Sometimes you have to get beat down for the entire match as a heel, and then steal it at the end. 2. Kane - Without a doubt, Kane is physically ideal to play the part of monster. His talking skills have improved, but until he truly learns to work a crowd, he will never approach Flair. Kane makes this list primarily because he is the huge, physically imposing bad guy supreme. He walks into the arena and everyone stops. After seeing Kane wrestle one or two matches, though, you have seen every move he has. That is not enough to sustain as a supreme heel. 3. Edge - Edge has it all. He has the look, the personality, and the wrestling skills to be the ultimate evil one of the WWE. The problem with Edge is that he is perpetually being misused as a WWE superstar. If the WWE took Edge and made him a serious wrestler that simply can not be beat, he would reach legendary status. While Edge is champion most of the time, it is almost always accompanied by some silly angle like his marriage fiasco with Vikki. Let Edge be Edge and he will get over with the fans regularly. 4. Kennedy - Kennedy is a young Ric Flair in the making, and the WWE simply does not seem to notice. This guy can talk, wrestle, and incite the crowd into a frenzy. Why the WWE does not give Kennedy a major push is a mystery. 5. Randy Orton - Orton is easily the best of the bunch. The ultimate heel of today's wrestling world, Orton can make you want to charge the ring with his annoying expressions and mean streak. Though Orton is currently laid up due to a motorcycle accident, he will return soon. When he does, the WWE will once again have a true heel to pit against the good guys heading up. Of all of the wrestlers listed above, the only real contenders to Ric Flair's crown is Orton, Kennedy, and Jericho. Edge will always be seen as a joker. Kane will always be seen as a mindless monster. Depending on which of these superstars the WWE decides to push, any one of these guys could become a classic heel from yesteryear. This is exactly what today's WWE needs to do to get back to the glorious roots when Flair was "The Man" of the wrestling world. References
