This week on Raw the WWE Universe saw The Brian Kendrick try his first new partner on for size, 'the bizarre one' Goldust

Following his one-on-one victory over Carlito, one half of the Unified Tag Team Champions last week, The Brian Kendrick looked to solidify his claim as a contender for the gold this week on Raw. ‘The Man with the Plan’s’ search for ‘The’ tag team partner saw him, this week, bring ‘the bizarre one’ Goldust to the ring with him. It would seem his plan would be flawed.

Kendrick seemed to become quickly frustrated with Goldust’s performance on the ring, seemingly for lacking the aggression that was expected of him. After tagging himself in, Kendrick seemed more interested in berating his partner than concentrating on the match, which lead to a quick victory for the Colón’s.

Kendrick's Team Falls Apart

It rapidly became clear after the match that the pairing was not to last. An irate Brian Kendrick blamed Goldust for the loss, slapping him in the face. It seemed things might kick off between the two superstars before Hornswoggle appeared from under the ring, interfering in any possible confrontation. With the two unconventional ones seeing Kendrick off in short order, it would seem that Goldust might have found himself a new partner, even if The Brian Kendrick hasn’t.

It is likely that this will be nothing more than a minor setback for the cocky and brash young Brian Kendrick as he searches for ‘The’ tag team partner.

Goldust's Tag Team History

Goldust was part of an interesting pairing back in 2002 and 2003 when he joined with Booker T in a tag team. The pair won the Tam Team Championships on one occasion, as well as taking part in interesting feuds with teams such as Chris Jericho and Christian, as well as the NWO during their short existence within the company. Goldust is also a three-time Intercontinental Champion and a nine-time Hardcore champion.

Even though this experienced tag team wrestler did not fit the bill, there are still plenty more superstars on the roster, as well as some off, that still might fit the bill as ‘The’ tag team partner for Brian Kendrick.

Fan Opinion

A recent poll on WWE.com saw fans vote on The Miz as being ‘The’ tag team partner for Brian Kendrick. However, with The Miz currently concentrating on John Cena, it would seem unlikely that this would come to fruition. A lot of internet voices are expressing the opinion that perhaps it will be the returning Mr. Kennedy. Time will tell.
