The Tallest Wrestlers in WWE HistoryBig Show, Great Khali, Giant Gonzalez, and Other Wrestling Giants
Professional wrestlers are seen as larger than life stars. In World Wrestling Entertainment, there have been many big and tall men whose size has awed wrestling fans.
The industry of professional wrestling prides itself on having some of the biggest and tallest athletes in the world, and World Wrestling Entertainment has had more than its fair share of the biggest and tallest wrestlers on its roster. Some have lasted longer than others, but all have made an impression on fans. Andre the GiantAndre Roussimoff was perhaps the most famous giant of all time in the professional wrestling industry. He was billed at 7’4” and his actual height is not clear. Some report that he may have only stood as high as 6’10”, but the consensus seems to be that he was about 7’0. His billed weight was 540 pounds. He was beloved by wrestling fans and is still remembered by many today. The Giant GonzalezStanding at a legitimate 7’7” and billed as eight feet tall and over four hundred pounds, Giant Gonzalez was most well known for feuding with The Undertaker in 1993. He was by no means a quick man, and his main attribute was clearly his size, which he used to intimidate and throw around opponents. His biggest moment was when he eliminated The Undertaker from the Royal Rumble match in 1993. The Big ShowThe Big Show has had the longest stay as the biggest big man in WWE. He debuted in 1999 and has held eleven titles in World Wrestling Entertainment, his most recent being his Unified Tag Team championship with Chris Jericho. Big Show is billed at 7’0 and weighs close to 500 pounds, according to his official biography. KurrganHe stands at 7’0 and weighs 350 pounds. Kurrgan’s WWE career did not last very long, but he made an impression while he was there. He was briefly known as Kurrgan the Interrogator when he was part of the faction The Truth Commission. He later joined the group of misfits The Oddities, which also contained Luna Vachon, Golga (formerly known as Earthquake), and for a short time, Sable. The Great KhaliThe Great Khali is billed at 7’3” (his real height is 7’1”) and weighs a little over four hundred pounds. He is a former policeman from India and has been one of the few people to defeat The Undertaker, albeit with interference. His most recent feud has been with another giant, Kane. KaneThe Big Red Machine is one of Kane’s nicknames, and it is fitting. His billed weight is at 7’0, and he weighs 330 pounds. He is one of the few men who can stand toe to toe with his kayfabe brother The Undertaker, which is good because they have feuded many times. Kevin NashIn the World Wrestling Federation he was known as Diesel, with the nickname of Big Daddy Cool. He stands at 7’0, weighs 330 pounds, and was World Heavyweight Champion for nearly a year from November 1994 to November 1995. He was notorious during his time in WWE for being friends with Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Sean Waltman and Scott Hall. The UndertakerThe Undertaker is billed at 6’10 ½ inches (he is really about 6’8”) and weighs nearly three hundred pounds. He is notable for being one of the most versatile big men in the business and is able to employ a variety of moves that other big men could not accomplish. Yet his size is just one of the many things about him that has fans and other wrestlers alike in awe of him. While some World Wrestling Entertainment giants have had more success than others in the wrestling industry, all will be remembered for the awe-inspiring visuals they provided with their size and strength. Some were well-remembered champions and icons while others were comparative duds, but each contributed something to the annals of wrestling. Sources:Online World of Wrestling Profiles
