Each week WWE's RAW has their own special guest host, and on Monday, November 9 2009, boxer Ricky Hatton took over on the microphone to entertain the Sheffield public.

For the past few months World Wrestling Entertainment's flagship show 'Monday Night RAW' has used 'celebrity' guest hosts to front their show, guests have included The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, Dusty Rhodes, Shaquille O'Neal, Jeremy Piven, Trish Stratus and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.

Hitman Returns To The Ring

On Monday, November 9 2009 RAW returned to England with their DX Reunion Tour live from Sheffield. To make it more interesting for viewers and people in the audience WWE installed British hero and multi-time champion Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton to entertain the hoards.

This was Hatton's first proper appearance in a squared circle since his second round knockout at the hands of Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas back in May.

Big Show and Chris Jericho

After a shaky opening in which Hatton seemed a little nervous he soon get into his stride when unified world tag team champions Chris Jericho and Big Show made their way to the ring.

The champions tried to intimidate the boxer but the Manchester Mexican soon got the crowd behind him when he mentioned to Big Show that he enjoyed watching him at Wrestlemania 24 when he was knocked out by that other boxer - Floyd Mayweather - another former RAW guest host.

The Bella Twins

After his altercation with the tag champions, which was interrupted by DX, Hatton was then filmed backstage with the Bella twins - Nikki and Brie - talking about his love for darts. At this time Santino Marella appeared dressed as the Hitman's alter-ego Ricky Fatton - a name he adopts in between bouts when he piles on the pounds.

Chavo Guerrero Fights

Chavo Guerrero interrupts this little foursome and gets in the face of Santino, who still insists on being called Ricky Fatton. The real Ricky then steps in to announce they should sort this in the ring Wrestler v Boxer.

Guerrero is delighted he is getting the chance to get his hands on Santino until Hatton says he will not be fighting Ricky Fatton, but Ricky Hatton himself.

Hatton makes his way to the ring to the tune of Blue Moon - taken from his beloved Manchester City football club, to a chorus of cheers. It is noticeable that Hatton had not been in the ring for a while because of his size but he had no problem in moving around the ring.

The first few minutes saw Guerrero running away from Hatton and the boxer looked in trouble when Chavo attempted to get him in a wrestling move, as Guerrero tried to lift Hatton off his feet the Hitman escaped a landed a clean right hook which knocked the wrestler to the mat for the 10 count. Hatton's first bout since the Pacquiao defeat had ended up in victory much to the delight of the sell-out Sheffield crowd.

Hatton Wins By Knockout

Since appearing on RAW, Hatton has admitted he loved the reaction of the crowd and may consider returning to the ring as a boxer in the near future.
