Every piece of gold is on the line as Night of Champions hits The Wachovia Centre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the 26th July.

Formerly known as Vengeance, Night of Champions is the one time a year when every active WWE title belt has to be defended on the same Pay Per View.

Maryse (c) Vs. Mickey James for the Divas Championship

Although this match has been given a little more hype than the Womens Championship match over on Smackdown, it still hasn't been a build up strong enough to make it really interesting.

Mickey James has had her eye on the Divas Championship since Maryse brought it over to Raw in the 2009 Draft and at Night of Champions she finally gets the chance to claim it and become only the second Diva to hold both womens belts.

Maryse has done everything in her power to avoid facing James thus far and even blinded her with hairspray on Raw, just six days before their match at the Pay Per View.

Throw The Miz into the mix, who is currently trying everything he can to impress the current Divas Champion, and it looks like the deck could be stacked pretty heavily against Mickey James come Night of Champions.

Prediction: Maryse to retain the Divas Championship.

Six Pack Challenge for the United States Championship

Participants:

  • Kofi Kingston (c)
  • The Miz
  • M.V.P
  • The Big Show
  • Evan Bourne Carlito
  • Jack Swagger

The last Six Pack Challenge took place all the way back at Unforgiven 1999 when Triple H pinned The Rock to win the then WWF Championship for a second time.

This time Kofi Kingston puts his United States title on the line at Night of Champions in a match that has the potential to steal the show.

The rules of the match are simple; 2 Superstars are legally in the ring at any one time, while the other 4 participants stand on the corners of the ring and wait to be tagged in. The legal superstars can tag any of the other non-legal men into the ring, although unless they are in a desperate situation it isn't a good tactic as it isn't possible to win the match from the apron.

The Big Show's previous experience in this type of match, combined with his sheer size and power make him a favourite, at least on paper, but Kingston has shown great persistance in defending his belt thus far and any of these guys could realistically pick up the win.

Evan Bourne was originally touted as being a participant in this match although he was replaced by Carlito after suffering a slight neck injury 2 weeks before the event at the hands of The Big Show.

Prediction: It's a tough one as anything could happen...Jack Swagger by cheating.

Christian Vs. Tommy Dreamer (c) for the ECW Championship

Christian and Tommy Dreamer have fought so many times that it's hard to think this match will have anything new in it.

While Christian is more deserving of the title in terms of wrestling and promo ability, many argue that Dreamer finally holding the ECW Championship is deserved for the amount of time and effort he has dedicated to the ECW brand.

Dreamer has had his moment and the time has probably come for him to drop the belt back to Christian who can more convincingly feud with one of the up and comers like Zack Ryder.

However with Night of Champions taking place in ECW's spiritual home of Philadelphia a loss for the only remaining ECW Original could be seen as a slap in the face both to him and the old fanbase.

Prediction: Christian to win.

Randy Orton (c) Vs. Triple H Vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship

Triple H and Orton have fought in a plethora of different matches since the two began feuding around the start of the year, so it makes sense that someone else would be thrown into the mix and this time it's John Cena.

Cena and Triple H fought it out through the Night of Champions tournament, defeating M.V.P and The Miz respectively on the way to the final where they put on a pretty good match. The end of the bout was soured when Orton's Legacy got involved and caused a double disqualification, thinking neither man would then be eligable to face the WWE Champion at the Pay Per View.

The Million Dollar Man who was the guest host for the night, soon wiped the smile off Legacy's faces by declaring that as neither man lost the match, both would be named #1 contenders and the match at Night of Champions would be a Triple Threat bout.

Although the odds in a Triple Threat don't favour the champion, having Priceless waiting in the wings certainly does. However, with the return of HBK being speculated upon it's possible that Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase won't be the only ones making an appearance during this match.

Prediction: Triple H to win the WWE Championship.
