WWE Survivor Series 08 Team Matches Preview
Preview of the 3 Traditional Elimination Matches and Live Results
The first Survivor Series took place almost twenty two years ago on November 26th 1987 and was designed primarily to cash in on the ongoing feud between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant that had been raging since the start of the year. It also gave birth to what is now known as the 'traditional' Survivor Series match which pits two teams of five against each other and continues until all members of one team have been eliminated.
This tradition is set to continue again as three of these matches have been scheduled for Survivor Series 2008, all of which are cross-promotional and each one is bursting with a selection of feuds.
Team SmackDown vs. Team Raw Divas Survivor Series Elimination Match

Unlike the Survivor Series matches to follow, the main rivals here have to team up and put their differences aside. Beth has at one time or another destroyed every member of her team and although she hasn't been heavily involved in a feud with any of them recently, there is sure to be some bad blood between them and arguments could easily spark.
However, it is the Smackdown team look more likely to combust, with Victoria, Natalya and Maryse all desperate to get their hands on Michelles Diva's Championship.
Prediction: The order of elimination is going to be a hard thing to predict in any of these matches, but overall there seems to be more cohesion between Team Raw than Team Smackdown.
Team HBK vs. Team JBL: Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match

The rivalry between HBK and JBL is still in its early stages, although the hatred between them escalated rapidly on the 800th episode of Raw when the self-proclaimed wrestling god cost Shawn the World Heavyweight Title by drilling him in the head with a chair.
Kane and Rey Mysterio should have been put to bed weeks ago, especially as the creative team have decided that Rey will constantly get the upper hand while Kane's credibility is gradually destroyed, but despite this it’s nice to see the Big Red Machine involved in a high profile match.
The Miz and Morrison/Cryme Tyme feud looked to be over when the two teams met at Cyber Sunday, but it has again been revived for this match. Jesse and Festus would perhaps have made a better addition to Team HBK but Cryme Tyme=Ratings and the WWE don't want to miss out.
Finally the most entertaining element in this match is sure to be The Punjabi Playboy, Khali. The decision to turn him face was a stroke of genius, and although the Kiss Cam and its obviously planted female kiss-ees may not have much life in it, hopefully the Khali vs. MVP feud does.
Prediction: With the main rivalry quite fresh the final outcome could still go either way, but expect Cryme Tyme to get the better of Miz and Morrison.
Team Batista vs. Team Orton: Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match

Orton and Batista is no doubt something fans have wanted to see since Evolution disbanded and hopefully now it will be given a good run, and not just rushed into a marquee match like Cena Vs. Batista was at Summerslam.
It will also be interesting to see how Orton and Rhodes interact given the events of the past few weeks.
The continuation of the Henry/Hardy feud only serves to show how weak the top tier of ECW really is. It's about time someone fresh stepped up and challenged Hardy, as the constant battles between these two have grown stale and repetative.
R-Truth, C.M Punk, Kofi Kingston and Shelton Benjamin will no doubt put on great performances, although they are likely to be the first people eliminated for their respective teams.
Finally, the strangest inclusion in this match is William Regal. With DiBiase Jr. 'injured' (or actually taking time off to get married) the obvious choice would have been to put Manu in his place. Regal has no real reason to be included and would have been better utilised in an Intercontinental Title match.
Prediction: Atlas and Manu will get involved in the earlier stages, but it will come down to Orton and Batista, with perhaps an altercation between Orton and Rhodes.
